Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is one of 12 banks under the U.S. Federal Reserve System (The Fed), the United States’ central bank. It serves the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan and Iowa and reports to the Board of Governors of the The Fed. Heavily protected, this is where the banks haul cash every day, so you can see big armored trucks coming in and out every once in a while. There is a museum of money at the lower level, you can even buy a bag of shredded U.S. Dollars for five bucks, which were retired due to damage, etc..

A museum of money… what a concept!
