Central Camera, est. 1899

One of the oldest, if not the oldest, store in Chicago. Central Camera! The store has been in operation since 1899 and is still lively every single day! When you walk in, you step back in time at least 50 years or more. Imagine as if you walked from Diagon Alley and into Ollivander’s. Just replace the magic wands with cameras, well, you get the idea. Lots of old gear, also the latest sparkling new gear, and very knowledgeable staff. I think the youngest serving person has been there well for over a decade. All enthusiast photographers.
If you are a photography fan and happen to visit Chicago, the store front is at 230 S. Wabash Ave., just south of the Palmer House. Can’t miss it for its iconic neon lights, which look awesome after dusk. When you visit, they give free wall calendars too.
Shot with Ricoh GR, native positive film preset, no post processing.
