Winter will be upon us less than a couple of months from now and I just stumbled upon this pic from the winter prior, (pre-COVID days), warm sweatshirt jackets and leaves fresh; budding on trees gave it away, if you can tell… though one of them braved teh cold sunny day with short sleeves.
What struck me back then was the sad emptiness where the statue of “Honest Abe” is, between Michigan and Columbus. Two women sitting by themselves in the cold, only the statue of Lincoln keeping them company and not a soul around. Empty plaza, empty park, weird energy. It was a premonition of things about to come. Didn’t know it back then, sure as heck know it now.
